Copper Canyon Sparks, NV

Copper Canyon is a 1400 acre master planned business park, commercial retail and residential development. Proposed uses for the commercial areas are a hotel, casino, and general retail. The business park will house large offices and warehousing operations. The residential component varies from high density townhomes to spacious custom lots.  The project is very steep with over 1500 feet of relief and cuts and fills over 100 feet.  The total project will require over 20 million cubic yards of material to be moved.  

Padovan Consulting provided pre-construction services to SunCal Companies. These services include analyzing the overall grading of the site and preparing detailed exhibits displaying the likely construction sequences based on how the dirt needs to be moved; preparing bid packages with complete scopes of work, reviewing plans for constructability, preparing detailed cost estimates, preparing project schedules and assisting with CCFEA application to the Regional Transportation Commission. Our input indicated areas for cost savings by indentifying flaws in the grading and providing useful input for the CCFEA process and the overall knowledge of developing and grading large projects.

Padovan Consulting continues to provide construction and cost analysis expertise for the current land owner to assist in obtaining bond financing from the City of Sparks for future infrastructure development. The services include determining the allowable infrastructure components eligible for bond financing and related cost of each component and then communicating results to the client and the City of Sparks.
